HIGHLIGHTS
This
guide will help you access information related citing sources using the
Modern Language Association (MLA) style. For
more information, consult the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers on
Closed Reserve or in the Reference section (REF 808.02 G437ml).
OVERVIEW
-- Indent 5 spaces on all but the first
line of each entry.
-- Double-space within and between all entries.
-- Alphabetize entries by author; if no author is given, begin with title.
-- Web Sites [MLA 4.9.2] should have author (if given), title underlined,
date of publication or update (if available) originator (if available), date
of access, and URL (the electronic address).
-- Databases [MLA 4.9.7] are cited just like the print version with the
addition of the name of the database underlined, the name of the service,
the library, the date of access, and URL if known.

CITATION MACHINES
Citation machines help you cite your
resources. These websites ask you to plug in information about the
source--title, URL, database, etc.--then show you what the MLA or APA citation
would look like. Citation machines are not perfect. You should always consult
your instructor or the MLA Handbook to verify your listing.
