A number of computers are located in the library.
Some are dedicated for Research only, while others can be used for typing papers
and sending email.
Wireless Network Access
Your wireless computing devices are welcome
and functional in the the Miller Library.
Cell Phones
Cell phones must be turned to silent or
vibrate and conversations must be quiet. Loud usage can result in a fine.
Library Reference Computers
The Library's Reference Computers, are
dedicated solely for research in an effort to secure students the opportunity
to search for books and articles without long waits. These dedicated
research computers cannot be used for word processing or games. There are 8 reference computers
located on the Reference Island on the main floor, in front
of the Circulation Desk.
Laptops
The Library does have a limited number of
laptops available for student use. The Laptops may be checked out for three
hours and must remain in the Library. A student ID is required for use. For
more information, stop by the Circulation Desk.
Thin Client Terminals
The Library also has a number of thin client
terminals fully equipped for word processing and other tasks. There are 12
terminals located on the Library's Main floor and 5 located in the Quiet Study Areas on the 4th Floor.
Cupillari & VOED Computer
Labs
Both the Cupillari and VOED Computer labs are
located in the library and staffed and maintained by the
Information Technology Department. Questions or problems with
computers in the labs should be directed to IT. Both labs offer a wide
range of computing opportunities: web surfing, research, word processing,
webpage creation, presentation creation, email and much more.
These labs may also be
reserved by instructors
and used for computer and research instruction. Be sure to keep an eye
open for changes in the labs availability and scheduling.
